How does the tool work?
The tool has been developed to be easy-to-use and reduce time in the matching process. It is a web-based tool that can be accessible by the clinic with a user and a password provided by fenomatch.
The tool has two different parts:
- Bank side: The user can upload and manage all the information of the donors. Also, if it is a connected bank, they can also see the requests from other
- Clinic side: The user can perform 3 types of matching (phenotypic, genetic and biometric) by selecting different parameters into the app. At the middle of the process, the clinic’s user must upload a photo of the patient in order to run the AI-based facial matching algorithm. As a result, an ordered list of donors’ candidates will appear with a score, showing from the most to the least facial resemblance to the In the final step, the clinic’s user must choose the most suitable donor available for the patient and download the reports from the app.

Is there any other tool that does the same thing as Fenomatch?
No, Fenomatch has developed an algorithm that is unique and it is based on facial matching, which does the opposite as common and well known facial recognition softwares. Facial recognition software looks for differences between two photos. For example, if the subject of one of the photos has a tattoo and the other doesn’t, facial recognition will tell you that both are not the same person and that they do not look alike. However, with the facial matching algorithm created by Fenomatch, if both subjects look alike, Fenomatch will tell you that they have a high Fenomatch score, no matter the tattoos.
