1) Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m 43 years old, father of 3 beautiful kids and CEO / owner of the company cryotransport.com.
I have 2 high degrees: Medical Doctor, HR manager.
I also love jazz, sport, work and vacations.
2) Tell us about Cryo-Transport and what your role is at Cryo-Transport.
My name is Dr Malozemov Sergey and I am the CEO of our company; Cryo-Transport. We have 5 “storks” couriers and 2 managers.
Cryo-transport.com (Reproduction LTD) company was established 11 years ago and became the first international hand carry courier company in CIS (Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Armenia) countries for shipping of sperm / oocytes / embryos / stem cells worldwide.
We are well known in Europe, US, Canada and CIS countries.
At Cryo-transport.com, we work with surrogacy agencies, clinics, cryobanks and personal customers around the world.
We are also a Member and exhibitor at ESHRE (https://www.eshre.eu/) conference since 2015.
We have made over 1000 hand carry deliveries to several countries:
Estonia, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Finland, USA, Cyprus, Turkey, Israel, Republic of Korea, Australia, Russia, Lebanon, Portugal, Japan, Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, China, HK, Saipan island, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Colombia, Thailand, Cambodia, UAE, Philippines, Mexico, Singapore, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa’
We have had some of our clients send us pictures of the children born out of the embryos, eggs and sperm that we transported in those first flights and it is amazing to be able to see how we have been part of their fertility journeys.
We have hopefully made a lot of people happier.
3) Is it safe to ship cryopreserved embryos, eggs and sperm?
Yes, totally, if you use professionals in hand carry shipments.
The Requirements for safe transport include:
- Trained courier
- Perfect, tested container (we are using MVE / CHART SC 2/1, SC 4/2, US Manufacturer)
- Arrangements with customers, clinics, aviation security, airlines and customs have to be done for every delivery
4) How long does it take to prepare transport and when should people start the process?
Depends on destinations, we need 2-3 weeks in generally to prepare all documents for the shipment
5) How long does the transportation take?
Depends on destinations, 24 – 72 hours.
6) How are you different from regular companies such as DHL, FedEx or UPS?
DHL, FedEx or UPS are cargo delivery companies. So the container will not be supervised by a responsible person, delivered to transit hubs with possible delays. So precious material can be transported by several people as cargo.
Also, they don’t have those containers, so you have to rent a dry shipper and return it back. Anyway DHL, FedEx or UPS are professionals of cargo deliveries
worldwide.
Cryo-transport.com is hand carry delivery company, so our advantages are:
- 1 responsible courier
- commercial direct flights, depends on possibilities
- tested containers with static holding time: 7 – 13 days, depends on model
- container in hand luggage
- no X-Ray as exception according to aviation security arrangements
- vertical position for full flight under supervision of the courier
- delivery directly from the lab (storage) to another lab (storage)
7) Where can people find information about the cost of shipment?
General information and price list is at www.cryo-transport.com
Exact information and price can be received at info@cryo-transport.com (please indicate the clinic A and clinic B) or via whatsapp: +7 950 041 3691 Dr. Malozemov Sergey.
8) Does the number of embryos or eggs or sworn vials impact the cost of
shipment?
No, but there are limitations:
- not more then 20 straws with embryos / oocytes / sperm
- not more then 9 vials with sperm per shipment
9) Do you assist with the documentation and testing that may be required?
Every clinic in the world requires the testing listed below to be done prior to cryopreservation of the material with some additional testing in some cases:
- Screenings for HIV
- Screenings for hepatitis C and B
- Screenings for treponema pallidum ( syphilis)
Our manager will also send required list of documents required before the shipment is done.
10) How long can cells survive in the container?
Static holding time (-196 degrees Celsius):
- Dry shipper MVE SC 2/1 – 7 days
- Dry shipper MVE SС 4/2 – 13 days
11) Cryopreserved eggs/sperm and embryos shouldn’t undergo x-ray indirection, so how do you protect the cells when going through airports?
We arrange special permission of exception of x-ray with request of gas analyser testing of the container.
12) Do some countries have legislative restrictions with transporting human cells and how can that impact transportation?
We cannot deliver from/to countries that have such restrictions:
- China
- Thailand
- selected Muslim countries
13) Why is Cryo-Transport the go to option for shipping embryos /eggs and sperm internationally?
We have 11 years of safe deliveries worldwide with positive feedbacks from private customers and long-term relations with surrogacy companies and cryobanks.
14) Is there any other information you would like to share?
